This is the blog of a straight man who started over. Then over again. When I gave up trying to be married to a lesbian, I entered the world of the “str8 spouse,” and surprising large and diverse world-wide community of those of us who have been married to a gay person. Some, like me, tried to make it work. Many never had that chance. Some were betrayed cruelly, some were treated well. Most, but certainly not all, are supportive of gay rights, but harbor understandable misgivings about the celebration of all things gay in liberal circles today.

All of us have gone through the unique stages of grieving our marriages, stages made all the more unique by dealing with the knowledge that our spouse were gay, and wondering what it was about us that led to this road we never expected to travel.
